Activity stations of the basic experiential teaching in biology:
“The Forest in Spring”


The students: experience...

  • spring with the scent of flowers
  • the feeling and olfactory perception of fresh leaves and wood during a walk in the forest
  • the production of a spruce needle pudding
  • the production of spruce needle vinegar


Included is the story with the methodological considerations and the respective worksheet.

The story is 10 pages long.


Funding objectives:

  • convey the forest experience through various materials such as fresh leaves, branches and spruce needles
  • Promote tactile, auditory, visual, gustatory and olfactory perception


Lesson objective:

  • The students experience the production of spruce needle vinegar and get to know spruce needle pudding
